Thank you to everyone who took part!
87% of respondents said they are
"likely" to install
the game upon release!
We were very pleased to have so many players from all over the world take part in the closed beta test. We would like to thank everyone again for taking the time to play the game and give us your valuable feedback. The majority of players responded positively regarding both the gameplay experience and the likelihood of installing the game upon release. We will continue to iron out the kinks and brush up the game in order to meet everyone's expectations before the official release.
Based on the results of the closed beta test and the feedback we received, there are a number of points we are going to focus on improving.
Adjust the characteristics of different Blessings and add more Dragon Quest flavour to make the Blessing system more enjoyable.
Implement a new auto-farming feature, and adjust the number of Quick Quests and character AI in auto mode.
Adjust the UI of various screens, such as the confusing Memory edit screen, to make the UI easier to understand.
We received overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding the Gauntlet from those players who focused on this mode, so we plan to increase the number of stages and adjust the difficulty levels to allow more players to enjoy the feature in different ways.
Adjust player attack graphical effects to address the issue of enemy attacks becoming unreadable due to screen clutter.
Implement improvements to address various technical issues, such as connection stability during co-op, performance issues due to processing overload, and devices overheating.
This section contains the results of player feedback on various sections of the game, as well as example comments from players.
While the battle system is completely different from previous Dragon Quest titles, we received overwhelmingly positive feedback with 87% of players saying they found it either "very enjoyable" or "enjoyable." However, players raised concerns about the variety of Blessings and character behaviour when using auto mode. We plan to address these issues and make the game even more enjoyable before the official release.
We received lots of positive feedback about the extensive and deep gameplay mechanics, with many players saying they felt the game has the potential to offer the substantial long-term enjoyment they expect from an RPG. However, players also raised concerns about some features, such as the number of Quick Quests available each day and the usability of the Memory edit function. We will continue improving the UI and enhancing playability features such as Quick Quests in the run up to the official launch.
Eighty percent of players responded positively, saying they found co-op "very enjoyable" or "enjoyable." The chaotic feel of the battles in contrast to solo play and the accessible rules system were particularly well-received. Areas that players highlighted for improvement included performance issues due to processing load and the screen becoming overly cluttered with graphical effects, so we will work to address these issues.
Gauntlet rules that increased the importance of equipment configurations and Blessing choices were well-received. Players particularly highlighted that in the Gauntlet, every aspect of a character's build was crucial for getting a high score, which motivated them to think carefully about their setup. However, some players responded that they didn't see the point of the mode and didn't engage with it much during the closed beta test. We plan to improve the Gauntlet by increasing the number of stages and adjusting the difficulty levels to allow more players to enjoy this part of the game in different ways.
Below are just a few of the many comments players shared in the open-ended comments section at the end of the tester questionnaire.
We received lots of other comments from players all over the world. We'd like to thank everyone who took the time to share their impressions of the game!
The team will look over all the feedback, comments, and suggestions you provided and continue brushing up the game before the official release.
A big thank you again to everyone who took part in the closed beta test.
As mentioned at the start of this report, 87% of testers said they are likely to play the game when it's officially released, indicating significant anticipation from players from all over the world.
